First European retrospective of the artist who belonged to the first generation of American Abstract Expressionism and was a founding member of the movement known as the New York School. His paintings, together with those of his contemporaries Pollock, Gorky and Baziotes, where shown  for the first time in Europe in 1948 thanks to Peggy Guggenheim.
The Venetian exhibition offers 47 paintings, which practically represent the artist’s entire body of work.
