Futurist masterpieces at the Peggy Guggenheim Collection.
A special display curated by the collection’s director, Philip Rylands, presents a new show dedicatedto Futurism, with works coming from the Gianni Mattioli Collection as well as paintings, sculptures and works on paper from the Peggy Guggenheim and other private collections.
This small but precious show includes works by each of the five signatories of the Futurist Manifesto (Manifesto tecnico della pittura futurista) published in 1910: Balla, Boccioni, Carrà, Russolo and Severini. Works by other artists associated with the movement - like Rosai, Sirioni and Soffici - are on display as well.
