The international theatre festival - Venice Biennale

After organizing the art and dance festivals, here comes the Venice Biennale’s third important production of the year. The international theatre festival. Helmed  by Maurizio Scaparro, the festival is to take place from July 18 to 29 in various venues including the goldoni theatre and the Theatro Piccolo Arsenale. The 2007 festival is dedicated to transcriptions, adaptations and new plays inspired by Carlo Goldoni, the famous 18^th Century Venetian Commedia dell’ arte playwright whose 300^th birthday is celebrated this year. In addition to evenings performances, there will be also a campus where students from European and Mediterranean universities will meet invited actors, directors, playwrights and critics as well as Goldoni scholars.
