The Vogalonga is one of the most spectacular events of the year in Venice, a genuine expression of the lagoon spirit. It is indeed known as the queen of all rowing races, even though it differs from the others by being non-competitive.
Driven by the best and purest Olympic Games’ spirit, over 2000 rowers are out facing the challenge of an actual 32 km long marathon against the incomparable backdrop of the lagoon and its islands.
The islands, in fact, are the best places from which to follow the race, better than along the Cannaregio Canal and Grand Canal, to experience the excitement and see from up close the effort of the rowers, who come from all the countries of Europe.
Date for 2008 is Sunday, May 11th at 9 am the place is St. Mark’s Basin.
